Best Laptops under 30000 In India(Updated in September-2022)

If you are looking for the best laptops under Rs. 30,000 in India then you are at the right place. Now the laptops recommended here can do a lot of tasks that you ask of them with relative ease. These laptops are recommended for school students, college students, and working professionals who primarily work through the internet but don’t run big software programs. You can still install some large software but they won’t be as effective as a dedicated computer.

Now that being said the laptops recommended here can be useful for at least 3 or more years. There are a few criteria that need to be fulfilled if the laptop can be recommended.

First and foremost it should have SSD storage. I myself bought a laptop for my relative three years before under the same budget and since there were not many options around I chose a Hard Disk Drive storage model. I regret that decision till now. Hard Disks are cheaper but also so much slower. If anybody is recommending hard disk laptops as the best laptops then they are the worst. The computer I bought takes more than 2 minutes to just start(boot up). You should never consider a laptop with a hard disk unless it is paired with an SSD. This is the single most important part that makes a system run fast. It is more important than the processor.

The second most important aspect of the criteria is a minimum of 8GB of RAM. The one I bought for my relative has just 4GB of RAM. The windows software by default takes close to 1.5GB to 2 GB of RAM. The remaining gets filled up quickly if you open 2 to 6 chrome tabs. Chrome takes a lot of RAM to run. A laptop with 8GB RAM can last for a few years. An expandable RAM slot that is user-accessible is a plus point.

The third most important criterion is the processor. The processor is the brain of the computer and it needs to do its job well. There are two companies that make processors for 90% or more of the laptops which are Intel and AMD. Any Intel processor with 6th generation or higher and any AMD processor from Ryzen generation is the preferred choice. The number of processor cores should preferably be 4 or more. If the processor has 2 cores but has 4 threads then it is also considered. The above might be too technical but in simple terms the more cores the processor has the better.

Other criteria include storage which should be a minimum of 256GB of SSD. If the laptop has a hard disk as an additional then it is a plus point. The screen size should be a minimum of 13 inches or more.

These are the most important criteria that are considered before recommending the laptops and any feature beyond this is a plus.

The laptops recommended here also contain refurbished products which are in most cases 100 times better than new laptops for the same price. There are a few laptops that are slightly higher in price and they fall into Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000 category which you can check out later. Below is the list of recommended laptops.

Infinix INBook X1

infinix inbook
Infinix INBook X1 – Noble Red – Laptop

This laptop is hands-down the best laptop money can buy under Rs. 30,000 right now. Even though the brand is not a well-known laptop manufacturer they provide the best bang for buck deal for a laptop that costs less than 30k. Some of the plus points for this laptop are the aluminum body, USB-C fast charging, a 10th gen intel processor, and a backlit keyboard which is most likely a segment-first feature. Other main specifications include 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, Windows 11 Home Edition, a Good Display with Full HD resolution, 16.3 mm slim form factor, and a good selection of ports. This is also the only laptop that is brand new on this list. Other laptops in this list are from well-established brands but they are all refurbished. This laptop at the time of writing was Rs. 29,990 on Flipkart and Rs. 34,499 on Amazon.

Lenovo ThinkPad 13 Ultrabook

If you need a branded laptop then it can’t get better than this. This laptop is from Lenovo and it is from the ThinkPad line of laptops which are geared more towards long life and solid build quality. This and other laptops in this list are all refurbished laptops with 6 months of warranty and are present only on Amazon. These laptops even though they are second-hand are way better than a lot of newer ones under the price bracket. Some of the features of this laptop are an intel i5 7th gen processor, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, a 13.3-inch full HD IPS panel which would be great for watching videos and Comes preloaded with Windows 11 and MS Office. It also has a good selection of ports and a superb build quality. I use an older model of ThinkPad for work and it does just fine. Another plus point is expandable RAM which can be increased up to 32GB which can come in handy in a few years if programs consume more RAM. This laptop also has a replacement policy so you don’t have to worry about getting a faulty product. This laptop at the time of writing was selling for Rs. 29,999 on Amazon.

Lenovo Thinkpad-X270

lenovo thinkpad x270
Lenovo ThinkPad X270

This laptop is almost similar to the ThinkPad Ultrabook mentioned above but it also has a few tricks up its sleeve. For starters, the basic specifications are that it has an intel i5-7th gen processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, a 12.5-inch HD display panel, and a good selection of ports. Some plus points for this laptop are that it contains a fingerprint scanner for extra safety, a slightly larger battery which as per specifications is about 20% bigger than the ultrabook which coupled with a slightly lower resolution screen could yield more battery life. The ultrabook has 256GB extra storage than this model. At the time of writing this laptop was also priced at Rs. 29,999 on Amazon.

Lenovo ThinkPad E480

lenovo thinkpad e480
Lenovo ThinkPad E480

The ThinkPad E480 is another beautiful machine from Lenovo with slightly better design components. Overall they look the same as other thinkpads but some improvements like the hinge design make it a worthy opponent. This laptop is the only laptop on the list that comes with 16GB RAM by default. Other specifications include an i3 7th Gen intel processor, 256GB SSD with another 500GB Hard Disk which should take care of all your storage needs, a bigger 14-inch HD display, Windows 11 Pro, and MS Office pre-installed. The processor doesn’t make a big difference in most day-to-day tasks unless you are primarily going to use it for processor-intensive tasks. The processor is not a deal-breaker but you have extra RAM which would help you keep a lot of chrome tabs open at the same time and a few apps. For some people, this laptop could be a better choice than the above thinkpads. This was also selling for Rs. 29,999 on Amazon. A family friend recently bought this laptop based on my recommendation.

Dell Latitude Touch Screen E7470

This is the only touchscreen laptop that you can find on this list and probably the only laptop with a touchscreen at this price point. The specifications almost remain identical except for a fact that it comes with an intel core i5 6th gen processor rather than 7th gen. But it is not a huge deal-breaker. Other specs include 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD storage, a 14.1-inch Full HD display, and a solid design. It comes with Windows 10 Pro. It is also covered by a 6-month warranty. The laptop was selling for Rs. 29,999 on Amazon.

An HP laptop also makes the cut to this list. The HP Elitebook comes with a solid set of specifications but they are not better in terms of specifications compared to the other laptops on this list. However, if you are an HP Fanboy or Fangirl then this might entice you. The specs on this laptop are that it comes with an intel i5- 6th gen processor, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD and comes pre-loaded with Windows 11 and MS Office. It also has a good selection of ports but misses out on HDMI. Overall still a bang-for-buck laptop. This laptop was also selling at Rs. 29,999 on Amazon.
