The camera app in this phone is similar to the app in the Oppo Reno 2Z. There is a new feature introduced in this phone is the Sound Focus, which is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Samsung Zoom Mic features. This camera packs a quad-camera setup which is similar to the Reno 2Z. It also has a selfie pop-up camera.
The rear camera features a 48-megapixel primary sensor with 20x digital zoom along with optical as well as electronic image stabilization. There is also a 13-megapixel telephoto camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The fourth sensor on the Reno 2 is a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The photos taken in the day light are good. Zooming the photo works well in this phone and objects at the distance are easily recognisable. The camera app offers quick shortcuts for 2x and 5x zoom, for which the Reno 2 uses its telephoto camera. In low light, the Reno 2 does a good job of keeping noise under control when using the primary sensor.
The front camera is provided with a 16MP lens which is coupled with a soft screen flash that does not irritate eyes while clicking selfie pictures. Video recording tops out at 4k 30fps for the primary camera and 1080p 30fps for the selfie shooter. Video recorded in low light had a visible shimmer effect.
